Basemaps include geographic information like state and county borders, roads, waterways, lakes, mountains, and more. You can choose between three different Basemaps: Satellite, Topo, and Hybrid.
- Satellite Basemap: actual images of the land taken from above. Most images were taken within the past 3 years.
- Topo Basemap: topography lines showing elevation and land contours (1:24k scale in most areas). Click here for tips on reading topography maps.
- Hybrid Basemap: images of the land taken from above with topography lines overlaid on top.
Map Layers are information overlays for your map, like trail slopes, active wildfires, government lands, and more.
Use 3D mode to get a better idea of the terrain and plan your route.
