MTB Mode includes mountain bike trails that you can filter by difficulty level, trail length, total time, elevation gain, low/high point, and whether or not dogs and e-bikes are allowed.

Featured MTB trails are green, blue, or black trails on your map with a white border. Featured trails include more information than normal trails, like descriptions, elevation profiles, and photos.
Green Featured Trails: easy or easy/intermediate.
Blue Featured Trails: intermediate or intermediate/difficult.
Black Featured Trails: difficult or extremely difficult.
Tip: turn on the Trail Slope Layer in the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu to help judge the difficulty of normal trails. Click here to learn more about using the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu.
To filter MTB trails in the onX Backcountry App, tap the Activity button.
To filter MTB trails in the onX Backcountry Web Map, click the Discover button.
Click the "All" button to choose from all trail filters.
You can filter MTB trails by:
- Difficulty level: easy, easy/intermediate, intermediate, intermediate/difficult, difficult, or extremely difficult.
- Trail Length: use the sliders to choose a minimum and maximum length.
- Elevation Gain: use the sliders to choose a minimum and maximum elevation gain.
- Low/High Point: use the sliders to choose a minimum low point and a maximum high point.
- Dogs Allowed: no, on-leash, or off-leash.
- e-MTB Allowed: allowed, not allowed, unknown.
