The onX Backcountry App and Web Map are interactive, meaning you can tap or click almost any feature on your map to learn more about it.

Reading your map in the onX Backcountry App
Tap any location on the main map to display the info card. The info card gives you information about map features at the location you tapped. The green dot shows the location you tapped.
Swipe up inside the info card to view more details.
Swipe left on the bottom row of buttons to see the actions you can take, such as:
- Build a Route to the location you tapped.
- Add a waypoint at the location you tapped.
- Share the location with another onX Backcountry user to help you coordinate.
- Report an error or give feedback. Click here to learn about reporting map errors.
Reading your map in the onX Backcountry Web Map
Click any location on the main map to display the info card. The info card gives you information about map features at the location you tapped. The grey teardrop icon shows the location you clicked.
Scroll down in the info card to view more details.
Use the buttons at the bottom of the info card to:
- Add a regular waypoint at the location you tapped.
- Share the location with another onX Backcountry user to help you coordinate.
