Slope angles have a resolution of 3 - 10 meters.
Use Slope Angles to navigate while avoiding risky or steep areas. Avalanches occur most frequently on slopes steeper than 35°. Click here to learn about Avalanche Forecasts.

Slope Angles in the onX Backcountry App
Make sure the Activity Button is set to Snow Mode.
Open the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu.
Turn on the Slope Angles Layer to view color-coded Slope Angles on your map. To see Slope Angles more clearly, switch to the Topo Basemap. Click here to learn more about using Basemaps, Map Layers, and 3D Mode.
- Green - flatter than 25°
- Yellow - 25° to 30°
- Orange - 30° to 35°
- Red - 35° to 40°
- Purple - 40° to 45°
- Blue - steeper than 45°

Click the slider button on the Slope Angles Layer to view color-coded Slope Angles on your map.
