Viewing hiking trails and MTB trails
Featured hiking and MTB trails are green, blue, or black trails on your map with a white border. Featured trails include more information than other trails, like descriptions, trail reports, elevation profiles, and photos.
Green Featured Trails: easy, flat.
Blue Featured Trails: moderate, steeper.
Black Featured Trails: strenuous or very strenuous, steepest.

Tip: turn on the Trail Slope Layer in the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu to help judge the difficulty of normal trails. Click here to learn more about using the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu.
Viewing backcountry skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoe trails
At the highest zoom levels, ski touring, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing trails are indicated by purple pins.

As you zoom in, individual trails will become visible.
Solid or Dashed Featured Trail: backcountry ski, ski touring, and snowshoe trails.
Dashed Featured Trail with arrows: backcountry ski approach or exit.
Light Purple Dashed Trail: snowmobile trails.
Tip: turn on the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES) layers in the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu to help judge the possible avalanche danger.

At high zoom levels, climbing regions are blue pins with a region name underneath.
