Snow Mode includes ski touring, snowshoeing, and cross-country ski trails that you can filter by trail type, length, elevation loss, and low/high point.

Featured winter recreation trails are purple trails on your map with a white border. Featured trails include more information than normal trails, like descriptions, elevation profiles, avalanche forecasts, SNOTEL data, and photos.
Solid or Dashed Featured Trail: backcountry ski, ski touring, and snowshoe trails.
Dashed Featured Trail with arrows: backcountry ski approach or exit.
Light Purple Dashed Trail: snowmobile trails.
Tip: turn on the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES) layers in the Basemaps and Map Layers Menu to help judge the possible avalanche danger.

To filter snow recreation trails in the onX Backcountry App, tap the Activity button.
To filter snow recreation trails in the onX Backcountry Web Map, click the Discover button.
Click the "All" button to choose from all trail filters.
You can filter snow recreation trails by:
- Activity Type: ski touring, XC skiing, and snowshoeing trails.
- Length: use the sliders to choose a minimum and maximum length.
- Elevation Loss: use the sliders to choose a minimum and maximum elevation loss.
- Low/High Point: use the sliders to choose a minimum low point and a maximum high point.
