Switching to another mapping program can be a painful experience if you don't want to lose your content, but onX Backcountry gives you the ability to upload this information into your onX Backcountry account to ease the transition.
To export your saved items out of the Gaia GPS app, tap "Saved" at the bottom of the screen.
To transfer all your saved items once, add them all to a single folder. Tap the three dots next to the folder in the "Saved" menu and tap "Share."
Tap "Export File" at the bottom of the Share menu.
Choose either GPX or KML file format (onX Backcountry does not support GeoJSON format). Before choosing the file format, there are a few things to be aware of:
- Tracks exported as KML files will be converted into Lines. We recommend you Export Tracks as GPX files.
- Lines and Areas exported as GPX files will be converted into Tracks. We recommend you export Lines and Areas as KML files. Importing KML files is not available in the onX Backcountry App, so if you need to transfer Lines and Areas, please use the onX Backcountry Web Map on your computer.
Save the GPX or KML file to the files on your phone. Click here for instructions on how to import the GPX or KML file into onX Backcountry.
